Marketing and promotions merchandiser opens third business
Scott Harris, a Wellington marketing and merchandising businessman and animal rescue activist, recently opened his newest business, Phys Ed Gear, specializing in the sales of gym T-shirts and shorts to middle and high schools. Harris in his latest venture has partnered with a national physical education and event production company to sell the items at percentage less than current market prices. Profits also benefit a charity that uses the funds to underwrite school lunches and physical education programs.
“It’s a win-win for schools and a benefit to nonprofits,” Harris said. “We found that schools had no idea what to pay for gym clothes. They were being taken advantage of until we looked at the marketplace, made some calculations and came up with the new pricing and a charity partner that could really benefit.
